More work-work

I was just telling Fegan about how I'm currently writing two stories at the same time, the one I just posted, and this one:

It's about Jesus!

  1. i get a distinctly firefly-esque vibe from this. as in malthus = demon hunter mal and his crew are the ones in the car behind him.

i presume this is meant to be episodic in nature, with this being one of a series?

  2. Okay, I should point out that I didn't get this from Firefly - I stole the name from Thomas Malthus, who came up with stuff about population growth, hence the joke. And yes, very episodic - the full story has Malthus and Charlotte's hometown being destroy by ghosts or something, and some corporation pays them off to keep quiet about it, so they're taking supernatural cases hoping to find out more about the corporation. So, Firefly meets X-Files, I guess, except more absurdist comedy. Their main case is going to involve the "New Templars," a minuteman-esque group of hicks who take shotguns to fight evil gods, they mess up a necromancy project, accidentally summon a something-or-other, and Malthus will get stabbed by something. Whatever seems funny at the time.
